During Earth Month each year, the Atomic Ducks Dive Club cleans up 100-200 ft of Columbia River bottom as part of Earth Day and Earth Month activities. This year we will again clean up a stretch along Columbia Park in Kennewick.

To reduce the number of possible mosquito breeding sites, the Benton County Mosquito Control is offering free tire disposal. Tires accepted include: rimless car, pickup, and smaller. Semi-truck and tractor tires will not be accepted at this time.

She is the chair of the Energy and Climate Study Group for the local League of Women Voters and attended the Climate Change Negotiations in Copenhagen as a delegate from the US League of Women Voters. River’s Edge High School Students are kicking off a 3-week athletic shoe collection and recycling program.
The public is invited to drop off unwanted athletic shoes to be sent to Nike’s reuse-a-shoe project.
