Invitation to the Media
Two media events will be held on Friday, April 22, to announce and congratulate winners of the Mid-Columbia Earth Month Kids Essay and Video Contest.
Contest sponsor Mission Support Alliance will award checks to winning participants in front of their classmates and parents.
The first event begins at 11 a.m. at Cascade Elementary School, 505 S. Highland Drive in South Kennewick. Four students in Mrs. Gonzalez’ class will be recognized.
At 1 p.m. in Mrs. Kuffel’s class at Ruth Livingston Elementary School, 2525 N. Road 84 in Pasco, three enthusiastic girls by the team name of Pasco’s Totally Awesome Earth Cleaners will be recognized for their video submittal.
This is the first year for the essay and video contest. Seven entries were received by area school children who demonstrated how to conserve resources and protect our environment. Video entries can be viewed and voted on, online.
All entries and winners (including People's Choice) will be posted on the website on Friday afternoon. For more information, see www.earthmonthmc.org.
