Come see this Academy award nominated movie and learn the facts behind the "fracking" process to extract natural gas from the ground. Everyone interested in the energy future of the United States needs to see this movie. You will be surprised and scared.
The public is invited to a solar installation event at Udder Farms in Grandview. Students from Columbia Basin College's first solar hot water certification class will install the panels. The energy will provide hot water for the milking parlor and calving barn, which previously used propane and electricity.
USDA will be available to answer questions about the funding program and Charlie Card and Ray Lam will be on hand to answer questions about the solar hot water heaters.
Includes workshop, greens cooking class and lunch. Davenlore Winery will hold tasting too.
Meet at Wye Park at 8am, bring binoculars.
Join us for the presentation, ANWR Up Close and Personal, by Scott and Pamela Woodward, about their trip to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge last summer. Scott is president of the Tapteal Greenway Assoc. and the Ridges to Rivers Open Space Network. Learn about the whole ANWR system and what is at stake.
See attached for more information and directions.
